Folly Gardens are very excited to be able to offer a bespoke home visit service where a Vet and Patient Care Assistant will come directly to see your pet in our fully equipped mobile consulting van. We can provide the same care and attention to your pet in the clinic, in the comfort of your home, or within the van’s consulting facilities.

By letting us come to you, we can eliminate the stress of getting your cat in the carrier or your dog through the clinic's doors. Pets in their environment are more likely to be relaxed, allowing us to understand their health.

Brushing is by far the best method of keeping your pet's teeth clean and is more successful if taken in stages. Ideally, it would help if you brushed your dog's teeth at least once daily or three times per week at a minimum to help remove plaque and prevent tartar build-up.

When we think about weight management in pets it can be easy to focus on their exercise routine and how active they might, or might not, be. However, getting them out for their daily walk is only part of it, and in fact what they eat from one day to the next plays an equally important role.

Keeping our pets safe is important to all of us as pet owners. They trust us with their care and protection and microchipping can help with keeping them safe. A microchip identifies your pet as belonging to you. It contains a unique reference number which links to your details as an owner, stored on a central database. By scanning this microchip, this data is then accessible for the person scanning your pet.

We wish you and your pets a very happy festive period. With lots to think about it can be easy to forget the risks that are associated with Christmas and our pets. Most of the risks are present all year round, however, we do see an increase in pets eating hazards materials or foods. As we head into the festive season, we want to reassure you that we will still be here for you and your pet, however, with some slightly different opening hours than normal.

Just like us, our pets feel the cold; whilst we can indulge in hot drinks and wrap up in layers and warm up by the fire, you should also consider how to keep your pets happy and warm as the temperatures start to fall.

Over the last year, we have seen our costs increase significantly and we have absorbed the majority of these additional costs to try and support our customers during difficult times. However, with costs continuing to escalate, our prices need to increase to offset at least some of these higher costs.

Fireworks are used throughout the year to mark significant seasonal celebrations, including Bonfire Night, Halloween, New Year’s Eve and Diwali.

Whilst they are enjoyable for humans to watch, pets can often get scared of the loud bangs and bright flashes. Preparing your pet early can make a significant difference and will help your pet cope throughout the seasonal events – start preparing now!
