Our skeleton is what holds us up and the same is obviously true of our pets. That’s why, if something goes wrong with their bones, the quicker it’s fixed the better!
We regularly see poorly pets with orthopaedic problems including:
- fractures
- cruciate disease
- hip dysplasia
- angular limb deformities
- patellar luxation
- elbow dysplasia
Thankfully, rather than having to refer these cases to other centres, here at Folly Gardens, we are able to diagnose, treat and care for the majority that we see.
Senior vet Brad Cooper has a wealth of experience and a keen interest in orthopaedic cases and regularly attends conferences on the subject in order to be able to provide the best standard of care for the patients. As well as our digital x-ray facilities, we are also now able to offer on-site CT scans, courtesy of a visiting unit, which allows an in-depth, 3D evaluation of your pet’s anatomy. This means we can more accurately diagnose the problem and meticulously plan for surgery.
We are also able to utilise our laparoscopic equipment to provide keyhole options for some joint conditions, and our laser and acupuncture clinics can supply the supportive aftercare so vital in these cases.
