BRAD COOPER (BVSc MRCVS)

Practice Principle and Head Veterinary Surgeon

Picture of Head Vet Brad CooperHead vet Brad Cooper qualified from Bristol University in 1997 and, having gained experience in Tewkesbury and Cheltenham practices he took over the reigns of Folly Gardens in 2006.

Brad's veterinary interests are consulting, ultrasonography and minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and endoscopy).

Brad lives locally and is married to Sally with two young children. He has a black Labrador called Nellie, a British Shorthaired cat called Purdey and Rabbits called Rosie and James.

Brad enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and playing golf in his spare time (which isn't very often!)

DEV GUNPUT-RAO (BSc, MSc, BVSc (Hons) MRCVS)

Veterinary Surgeon

Picture of Dev GunputraoDev was welcomed to the practice in April 2010. He has over five years surgical and general medicine experience in treating cats, dogs and rabbits.

Before training as a veterinary surgeon at Liverpool, he spent nine months roping' cattle as a wrangler in Montana and worked with donkeys in Ethiopia.

Dev brings specialist skills and expertise in treating painful conditions such as osteo-arthritis and recurrent cystitis using modern western acupuncture. Many of his older patients enjoy a new lease of life following co-ordinated acupuncture, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and other non-drug treatments.

Dev also has a keen interest in chicken and reptile medicine and surgery.

He lives in Twyning with his wife Kate, two young boys, a cat and four very mischievous hens.

LIZZIE THREADINGHAM (BVSc MRCVS)

Veterinary Surgeon

Lizzie joined the practice in December 2010. She qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2007 from Liverpool University. She works with us three days a week and is an asset to the team. Lizzie has worked in small animal practice for numerous years and before becoming a Vet Surgeon she worked as a Florist!

Lizzie is enthusiastic about getting to know her new clients here at Folly Gardens. She is studying for her Certificate in Cardiology and has particular interest in feline medicine.

Lizzie has a cat called Eric, Hens called Hazel, Flo and Bess, Horses called Ollie and Muddy. She is happily married to her husband Steve and they are renovating their lovely home together on the out skirts of Cheltenham. Lizzie enjoys cooking and socialising with friend in her spare time.

She is now on Maternity leave until the spring. Congratulations Lizzie and husband Steve!

MEGAN ARCHER (Bvetmed (Hons) MRCVS)

Veterinary Surgeon

Picture of Megan ArcherCongratulations to Meg and husband Will on the safe arrival of baby Charlie on January 8th 2011! Meg has just returned from maternity leave and is back for 2 days a week.

Megan joined the team in 2007 and qualified in June 2000 from the RVC in London. She has worked in mixed and small animal practice since qualifying.

Megan has a particular interest in Dermatology and is completing her advanced certificate in Dermatology. She has more uses for sellotape then you could ever imagine!

She is married with two young daughters and a newborn boy.

TIM (BVSc MRCVS)

Vet Surgeon

Having (genuinely) been awarded a blue peter badge for excellence in Tortoise care at a very early age, Tim was probably always destined for the veterinary world, this resolve only wavering momentarily when he gained his width certificate in swimming, which could have heralded a glittering sporting career.

However animals it was to be, and Tim joined Folly Gardens in 2007 and is especially interested in small animal surgery. Previous to this Tim owned a veterinary practice in Sutton Coldfield for almost 20 years.............. I know, he doesn't look old enough, does he?

Tim lives with his wife, two Lurchers and a sorry assortment of ex- battery hens, near Broadway and also works part time at Vale wildlife rescue helping to treat and rehabilitate Britain's wildlife population.

In his leisure time, Tim likes to visit the gym and spends a lot of time trying to come to a mutual agreement with his golf clubs.

CLAIRE DITCHBURN (RVN)

Staff Manager and Practice Administrator

Picture of Claire DitchburnClaire joined the team in April 2007, she has worked locally in practice for over 21 years. She is a busy mum to her 9 year old daughter Mollie.

Claire owns 2 guinea pigs, Pikachu and Squirtle. Other than being kept busy by Mollie, Claire enjoys socialising with friends and is a big supporter of Gloucester Ruby Club!

Claire has recently taken on the role of Staff Manager and Practice Administrator and she is working towards a Certificate in Business Development.

ALI GUY (RVN A1)

Head Veterinary Nurse and Clinical Coach

Picture of Ali GuyHuge congratulations to Ali and fiancé Tom on their recent engagement!

Ali joined the team in May 2008 and is our practice Head Nurse and Clinical coach, training Student Vet Nurses. She is a full time member of the team and is enthusiastic about dermatology cases, wound care and radiography.

Ali owns 2 Border Collies, Buster and Grace. Ali enjoys travelling, sunny holidays and shopping!

Ali is a volunteer for the WVS (The Worldwide Veterinary Service) providing health care for under privileged communities. Ali has been on a number of voluntary projects for the WVS including; South Africa in February 2010 and South India in October 2010.

KELLY PRICE (RVN)

Head Veterinary Nurse at our Bishops Cleeve Branch

Kelly joined the team in 2000 and is our head nurse at our branch surgery in Bishops Cleeve. Kelly has a horse called Frodo and a Rough collie Sammy. Kelly enjoys medical and surgical cases as well as anaesthesia.

In her spare time she enjoys competing in local shows in cross country, dressage and show jumping with her horse. Kelly also enjoys socialising, spending time with friends and family.

KIRSTY GWYNNE (RVN V1)

Veterinary Nurse

Picture of Kirsty GwynneKirsty has been veterinary nursing since 1996 in mixed, small animal and referral practice. Kirsty joined Folly Gardens Vets in 2009 and works part time. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia, medical and emergency critical care.

SARAH ALLISON (VN)

Receptionist and Veterinary Nurse

Picture of Sarah AllinsonSarah joined the team in August 2010. She qualified in 2004 but has been in practice 17 years. She has particular interest is reception and prides herself in customer care, other interests include routine preventative healthcare, and puppy socialisation parties/classes.

She is happily married to husband David. Sarah owns 3 cats, Suki Luki Girlie Squirley, Carlos and Clarence. Outside of work Sarah spending time with her family.

KERRIE SPURR (RVN PHC)

Veterinary Nurse and Pet Health Counsellor

Picture of Kerrie SpurrKerrie joined the team in March 2007 and qualified as a Vet Nurse in August 2010. She also has a Higher Education Certificate in Animal Behaviour.

In July 2011 Kerrie completed a course run by Royal Canin to become our Pet Health Counsellor. After this Kerrie has begun to set up Nurse Clubs alongside Head Nurse Ali Guy, Nurse clubs include; Pet Smile Club, Weight Watchers Club and Puppy Parties.

Outside of work Kerrie is kept busy by her 3 year old step son Harry and partner Dan. Kerrie also enjoys pole dancing, visiting family in Australia, shopping, agility and obedience training her border collies.

She owns 5 Border Collies, Floss, Flo, Bess, Barney and Mollie, 4 cats, Ted, Phoebe, Polly and Simba and 2 rabbits, Carlos and Dieago.

ZOE HOCKLEY (SVN)

Student Veterinary Nurse

Picture of Zoe HockleyCongratulations to Zoe on passing her first year Veterinary Nurse Diploma exams with a whopping 93% in August 2011.

Zoe joined the team in April 2010. Zoe has worked with Horses for 10 years and has also worked in human nursing for 10 years. She owns a Labrador called Millie, horse called Bryan, and a fish called Span! She enjoys competing in show jumping, dressage and cross country events. Zoe has been married for 15 years and has a teenage son called Sam.

Zoe's particular interests are in patient care, puppy and kitten checks and suture and wound care.

SALLY CREESE

Animal Care Assistant

Sally has recently joined the team in September 2011. She is new to the Veterinary field and is enjoying learning about animals!

She has 2 dogs called Shadow (retriever cross collie) and Poppy (jack Russell cross Lakeland terrier), 5 rabbits Mum ginger and 4 babies, 3 cats called Charlie, Oliver and Kitty and 5 Pekin hens!

Sally is happily married with 2 children and in her spare time enjoys running with her dogs, yoga and socialising with friends.

JEREMY WILLS (BVSc CertVOphthal MRCVS)

Referral Ophthalmologist

Jeremy qualified from the University of Bristol Vet School in 1997. He has always found Ophthalmology to be a fascinating discipline and in his early years in general practice, he found himself being drawn to the subject more and more.

In 2005 he was awarded the Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He has been seeing-eye cases referred by other Vets since 2005.
