Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be used as a safe and highly effective treatment for both sudden-onset or long-standing conditions, including
  • Osteo-arthritis / Degenerative joint disease
  • Muscle or skeletal injuries
  • Cystitis
  • Persistent bowel problems
  • Localised skin sores
  • Following orthopaedic surgery
  • Pain relief for bone tumours
Acupuncture has the power and precision to hit pain exactly where it hurts, makes the body release its own natural pain-killers and increases the rate of healing.
Some people may be surprised to learn that Acupuncture is painless. The needles we use are extremely fine - unlike injection needles - they are gently tapered to a point so they don't cut. We use the "Rolls-Royce" of acupuncture needles which are specially designed to glide through skin so as not to cause discomfort.
Modern Western Acupuncture is recognised by the NHS and NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence). Many people living in the Tewkesbury area have benefited from receiving quality acupuncture treatment through their GP practice. The degree of treatment success is of course, dependent on the quality of the acupuncture performed. We offer acupuncture for your pet with a vet who is registered with the ABVA (Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists) and has several years experience performing Modern Western Acupuncture in cats, dogs and rabbits.

Acupuncture is the perfect complement to our physiotherapy service. Consult the document below for further information and a case study.
